The Paper Florist

The cut is the easy part — the shaping is where the piece is actually made. Petals get curled over a bone folder or a pencil edge, layered from the inside out, and set at slightly irregular angles, because real flowers are never symmetrical and paper ones read as fake the moment they are. This collection covers the mini cardstock flowers in their printed pots, the felt-cut arrangements, the tulip bunches, the hyacinth pots, and the 3D mini monstera. Some were gifts, some were table decor, a few were made because I wanted to see whether I could get a particular petal shape to hold. The felt versions are more forgiving and more tactile; the cardstock versions are sharper and hold detail better. I use both depending on whether the piece needs to be seen from across a room or picked up and held.
