Reading Program Community Sponsors

Summer Reading Program

Our annual Summer Reading Program succeeds through community partnerships. I work directly with local businesses and organizations who provide prizes, sponsorships, and promotional support. These partnerships:

  • Enhance program rewards and incentives

  • Create cross-promotional opportunities

  • Build goodwill throughout the community

  • Support local businesses

  • Provide sustainable funding for expanded programming

I've developed relationships with sponsors ranging from local ice cream shops to major regional attractions, ensuring diverse prize options that appeal to all age groups.

Personal Connection Through Visual Storytelling: I make a point to personally visit each sponsor location to take photos and videos of their services and resources for our promotional materials. This approach makes our online presence feel authentic and personal while highlighting what makes each business special. I create promotional videos for both summer and winter reading programs in multiple formats:

  • Landscape and portrait versions for different platforms (YouTube vs. TikTok)

  • Both English and Spanish language versions to reach our diverse community

These visits allow me to make meaningful connections with staff at local organizations and understand how much our partnership truly means to them. I love supporting local small businesses and helping our community thrive through these personalized promotions.

Winter Reading Challenge

Our Winter Reading Challenge supports a different local organization each year. Participants read to earn donations to the selected cause, creating a meaningful way for readers to give back through their reading activities.

Just as with our summer sponsors, I personally visit each winter reading organization to capture authentic photos and videos that showcase their work in the community. These visits deepen my understanding of their mission and help me create more compelling promotional content that genuinely represents their services.

This program demonstrates how libraries can act as community connectors, bringing together readers and local support organizations for mutual benefit. Past beneficiaries have included:

  • Local food pantries

  • Animal shelters

  • Youth support organizations

  • Environmental initiatives

Through thoughtful documentation, personal relationship building, and multimedia storytelling, I've been able to maintain and grow these partnerships year after year, creating sustainable community engagement that benefits all parties involved.
