About Maria

I've been in marketing since I could hold an envelope.

Rolling Green Turf Care wasn't just my family's business—it was my first classroom. At age 10, I stuffed envelopes. By 15, I was designing flyers. By 20, I was running digital campaigns. Every lesson started the same way: "Treat customers how you'd want to be treated."

My parents didn't just run a lawn care company—they built relationships that lasted 25+ years. They taught me that trust beats tactics, that leaving things better creates loyalty, and that diversifying your services protects everyone.

These values became my professional DNA.

Today, I'm a Marketing Systems Architect & Strategic Communications Professional. I build bridges—between analytical precision and creative intuition, between technology and the humans who fear it, between where organizations are and where they want to be.

I've managed communities of 95,000+ people. I've transformed email programs from 31% to 52% open rates. I've built partnerships with 100% retention rates. And I've navigated career transition with a 14% interview rate when the industry average is 2-3%.

But the thing I'm most proud of? I did it all without sacrificing who I am.

The 10-year-old version of me—the one stuffing envelopes at the kitchen table—would say:

"She's the oldest sister you never had. She'll teach you what she knows without making you feel stupid. And she'll be proud of you for trying."

That's who I am. That's who I'm still becoming.

A Letter to August 2025 Maria

Dear Maria,

You don't know it yet, but you're not broken. You're breaking open.

That smile you're forcing? It's not fake—it's protection. You learned a long time ago that showing your cracks makes other people uncomfortable. So you held it together. You always held it together.

But here's what you're about to learn: holding it together was never your job. And falling apart isn't failure—it's how the light gets in.

The next twelve months will be the hardest of your life. You'll question everything. You'll wonder if you made the biggest mistake of your career. You'll have moments at 2am where the rejections pile up and the silence from your inbox feels personal.

But you'll also build something extraordinary.

You'll discover that AI isn't a threat—it's a thinking partner. You'll realize that your "too much" is actually your superpower. You'll learn that strategic surrender isn't giving up—it's getting wise about where you spend your energy.

And you'll write a book. A real book. For your 8 people first—and then for thousands more.

So today, when you feel damaged underneath but no one can see it? That's okay. You don't have to perform healing. You just have to keep going.

Because the Maria who writes this letter? She made it through. She's proud of you. And she's grateful for every tear, every panic attack, every moment of doubt—because they all led here.

You're going to be okay. Better than okay.

You're going to be free.

With so much love,

Future Maria

And to you, reader:

Thank you for trusting me with your time and your journey. Thank you for believing that a better way exists—and for being willing to try it.

Whether this book helped you land a job, clarify your values, or simply feel less alone—that's enough. That's everything.

Now go build something beautiful.

"Success doesn't happen to you.

You create your own success."

This isn't a book about job searching.

It's a book about remembering who you are—

and refusing to become someone you're not to get hired.
