Crisis Communications Plan
During late August and September 2023, local public libraries in Illinois were receiving bomb threats.
Officials believed the threats were linked to ongoing national debates regarding banned books and free speech in public libraries. Over 16 libraries were forced to evacuate in our area. It was important to me to put together a plan in the chance that the bomb threat did happen at our library.
