Kind Words from Co-Workers

“Maria Galuppo is one of those rare individuals who is strong in both emotional intelligence and data analysis.

Maria understands communities. She makes it a point to ensure that the online presence of the library reflects the diversity and interests of the people we serve. She creates a unified voice that speaks to kids, families, teens, and adults from all backgrounds. With her artistic talent, Maria is able to create beautiful content, photo or video, in a very short amount of time. Maria has a deep understanding of trending memes and hashtags on various social media platforms, which she effortlessly connects to the brand message.

At Palatine Public Library, Maria was the first individual to be hired specifically for social media and as such, developed a social media strategy largely from scratch. Along the way, she collected monthly statistics to monitor progress and tease out trends. This allowed us to understand exactly what our next steps should be to create content with intention. Our social media presence grew tremendously under her direction.

As a person, Maria is a joy to work with. She is an excellent listener. She is one of the most organized people I have ever met. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and positive outlook inspire those around her. It is my honor and privilege to have worked under her leadership.”

“I saw your training slides in Canva and Kiel said they were helpful. I am very impressed. Good job!” - Melissa Gardner, Executive Director

“Congratulations on such a wonderful float and decorations for the parade! They looked fantastic and were so great for our 100th!” -Natalie LaRocque, Youth and Teen Librarian

“Thank you so much for your EXTENSIVE training in all things digital communication (Website, Social, Pano 360, Digital Signage, Trello, Patron Point). All your hard work has not gone unnoticed and will help our department in the future!” -Kiel Cross, new Communications Manager

“I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Maria Galuppo in my capacity as a Youth and Teen Services Associate II at the Palatine Library District. Maria's exceptional skills as a Communications Coordinator have significantly contributed to the success of our collaborative projects, and I am delighted to provide her with a well-deserved recommendation.

One of the most memorable projects we worked on together was the creation of Small Business TikTok content, including a Farmers Market video in July 2022. Maria's creativity and strategic approach were evident throughout the process, and her support for my own small business, Motif Candle Co., was truly appreciated. She not only provided guidance and assistance in showcasing my entrepreneurial endeavors but also fostered a strong friendship outside of the workplace.

Despite her busy schedule, Maria has continued to actively participate in promoting our youth based programs, offering innovative ideas and thoughtful insights that have enriched our content and engagement strategies. Her positive attitude and collaborative spirit have been a driving force behind our success, inspiring those around her to strive for excellence.

In summary, Maria Galuppo is an outstanding professional who consistently goes above and beyond to support her colleagues and promote the library's resources within the community. Her dedication, creativity, and genuine kindness make her an invaluable asset to any team, and I wholeheartedly recommend her for any opportunity she pursues.” - Allison Dunhal, Former Co-Worker

“My 9 year old has had me driving by almost daily to check on mama and papa goose. He named mama Nester (since she was sitting on her nest) and named papa Pro (since he protected the mama).

He's sad they are gone from their spot and he can't check up on them but was very excited to see these pics. Was an exciting couple weeks! “ -Corrie Salvado, FB 4/13/23
